Senate Pages assist with the daily operations of the Senate. Their responsibilities include delivering correspondence to Senators, helping prepare the floor for the legislative day by ensuring that all Senators’ desks, including the President of the Senate, have the legislative bills, reports and calendars of business for the day’s session. Pages are expected to work until 4 p. Senate adjourns for the day. Am I qualified to be considered for a nomination to the Senate Page Program? The Senate Page Program is administrated by the Sergeant at Arms. The summer program consists of two sessions which are three or four weeks in duration. Pages must be sponsored by a Senator. For the Fall and Spring sessions, pages must be juniors in high school who will be 1. For the Summer sessions, pages must have completed their sophomore year or junior year in high school and must be 1. Pages must have at least a 3. Pages must be United States citizens or subject to agreements of the Department of State. Pages must have a Social Security number. Pages must provide a certificate of immunization and general health assessment by a licensed physician. Additionally, pages must be covered by health insurance. What is the Page School? During the Fall and Spring sessions, pages attend morning classes at the Senate Page School. Students take math, English, social studies and science. There are tutors available for those who want to study a foreign language. Classes start at 6: 1. The cost of living in Daniel Webster Hall is $7. Breakfast and dinner are provided for the pages. The cost of rent and food is automatically deducted from the page’s salary of $2. United States Capitol Police. During the summer sessions, pages can request arrangements for alternate housing.
